He had seven sons and three daughters, and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.

• The numbers 3,7 and 10 are all symbolic of completeness.
• Job was richly blessed and his wealth was staggering.
• Even when describing the wealth of Job, the author focuses on completeness. Even the Lord in verse 8 describes Job as "blameless and upright" not that he is filthy rich.

• The Lord’s focus is on the complete man or woman. Is ours on accumulation of wealth and possessions and not completeness?
