Why Worry Now ?

Return to Main Page

It is not only wrong to worry, it is unbelief; worrying means that we do not believe God can look after the practical details of our lives, and it is never anything but those details that worry us. Have you ever noticed what Jesus said would choke the Word He put in us? Is it the devil? No - - "the cares of this world" (Mat 13:22). It is always our little worries. We say, "I will not trust what I cannot see" and that is where unbelief begins. the only cure for unbelief is obedience to the Spirit. The greatest word of Jesus to His disciples is abandon."

- Oswald Chambers

"There is absolutely no room whatsoever for fear or anxiety in the life of a believer…It's sin - - period ! I experienced it many times and have been driven to my knees each time; and each time I became anxious and turned it over to the Lord, He revealed to me that my fear was either:

1- A lack of trust that God could handle something or

2- A fear on my part that I wouldn't want what God had in mind!

Prayer resolves both issues. In prayer, we focus on God and remember that He IS able, and we get our will in line with His, because in our hearts, that's what His children want - to do His work…."Diana Brown (my dear friend)

Consider This . . . . . . . .
Mt 6:27  Will all of your worries add a single moment to your life?
Lk 12: 26  And if worry can't even do such little things as that (adding a single moment to our life), what's the use of worrying over bigger things?
Lk 12:31  God will always give you what you need from day to day if you will make the Kingdom of God your primary concern !
Phil 4:6  Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and don't forget to thank him for his answers.
Phil 4:7  If you do this you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:8  Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about it.
I Pet 5:7  Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.
Psalms 39:5-7  My life is no longer than my hand! My whole lifetime is like a moment to you. Proud man! Frail as breath! A shadow! And all his busy rushing ends in nothing. And so, Lord, my only hope is in you.
Hb 13:5  For God has said, I will never, never fail you nor forsake you.
Psalm 90:12  Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should.
Psalms 37:8-9  Don't fret and worry - - it only leads to harm. For the wicked shall be destroyed, but those who trust the Lord shall be given every blessing. (Anger and worry are 2 of the most destructive forces. They reveal a lack of faith that God is in complete control. Trust in the Lord completely. When you dwell on your problems, you become anxious and angy. If you concentrate on God and his goodness, you will find peace.)
Proverbs 20:24  Since the Lord is directing our steps, why try to understand everything that happens along the way?
Mk 4:38   [Jesus calms the seas with disciples in the boat] After Jesus rebuked the wind and the sea, he asked the disciples, "Why were you so fearful? Don't you even yet have confidence in me?" (and how about us - - don't we even have confidence in Him - - yet?)

7 reasons not to worry !
